Blackpool Darts & Dominoes League

Rules - Darts

  1. 8-00 pm start. Teams may claim the 1st game if match has not been started by 8-10pm.
  2. Throwing distance 7'9 1/4".
  3. Height of board to be 5' 8" from the floor to the centre of the bull
  4. Match to consist of 6 singles and 3 doubles, best of 3 legs, 501 Each single counts as 1 point, Each double counts as 2 points 2 league points are awarded for match win and 1 league point for a draw
  5. Home captain to pick first player, then alternate. Home player to throw for bull first and third leg (if required). Losing player of bull throws first in the second leg
  6. The maximum permitted time between games is 10 minutes unless both captains agree otherwise. Offending team will forfeit current game if criteria not met.
  7. Away teams may claim a match if the home team does not use a standard dartboard in a fit condition for a game of league darts or lighting is sub standard. In the event of a dispute of this kind then the League may investigate the matter and will make a fair decision after taking all factors into account.
  8. Matches should be completed by 11:20pm. In the event of a game finishing later than this time then captains' discretion should be used. In the event of a dispute then the League will listen to both sides and the League will make a fair decision on the evidence given.

Rules - Knock-out Cup Darts

Standard rules for darts should be followed for all Knock-out Cup matches except for the following.

  1. A coin should be tossed to decide which team will be classed as the home team.
  2. The home team will throw for the bull first in 1st, 3rd and 5th games of individuals and 1st and 3rd games of pairs. In the event of a tie the 3 man shoot out will be used 3 players from each team will be nominated and each player will play one game. A coin should be tossed in each game to decide which player will go first for the bull.
  3. Alternate venues for games in the latter stages of the competition may be used and venues will be decided at League meetings. Marking to be shared between teams
  4. There is no seeding in this competition.

Blackpool Darts & Dominoes League

Rules - Dominoes

  1. Dominoes games to consist of 6 singles and 3 doubles, all 5 legs to be played. Each winning single counts as 1 point, each winning double counts as 2 points
  2. Two tables to be used (unless both captains agree otherwise)
  3. Home captain to pick player for table 1 and away captain to pick player for table 2. Home player has first down in legs 1, 3 and 5, away player has down in legs 2 and 4
  4. If a leg is drawn then the game must be played again
  5. 2 points for most games won and 2 points for most legs won
  6. The maximum permitted time between games is 10 minutes unless both captains agree otherwise. Offending team will forfeit current game if criteria not met.
  7. In the event of a domino being played incorrectly during a game then the opposing player may claim the game if another domino has been played.
  8. If a captain complains that he or she considers that the dominoes are marked then he or she should register a complaint with the opposing captain before the 4th game is played. The opposing captain should either ensure that unmarked dominoes are used either by removing marks from the dominoes or using another set of dominoes. In the event of a dispute then the dominoes must be produced at the next league meeting for the League to make an unbiased decision.

Rules - Knock-out Cup Dominoes

Standard rules for dominoes should be followed for all Knock-out Cup matches except for the following.

  1. A coin should be tossed to decide which team will be classed as the home team
  2. The home team will have first drop in 1st, 3rd and 5th games of individuals and 1st and 3rd games of pairs. The first team to win 23 games will be classed as the winner, Legs are not counted in this competition.
  3. Alternate venues for games in the latter stages of the competition may be used and these venues will be decided at League meetings.
  4. There is no seeding in this competition.

Blackpool Darts & Dominoes League

Rules - General

  1. Players are only allowed to play for one team and are not allowed to play in any other league or non-league competitions on a Wednesday.
  2. No matches to be cancelled for other competitions.
  3. In the event that a team wishes to play a game on a date other than the designated one then the captain must give the opposing captain a minimum of one weeks' notice. The opposing captain is not obligated to play on another date and has the option of claiming the points although his or her team must be in attendance at the designated venue on the appropriate date and time.
  4. Captains are responsible for ringing the results through to Wiz on 311207 (evenings & weekends) or 334263 (daytime). Results must be rung in by the Saturday night or if mailed by the Monday otherwise the match will be regarded as a draw and all 180s, 5-0 domino wins etc will not be recorded.
  5. Late registration of players cannot be accepted after the second meeting. Following registration any team playing an unregistered player will forfeit the match concerned. If an unregistered player is played in dominoes then dominoes will be forfeited, likewise with darts
  6. League fees must be paid by the designated date, although late payment may be accepted at the discretiton of the League.
  7. Both men and women are allowed to play in both darts and dominoes.
  8. All achievements, 180s, 5 - 0 dom wins, high finishes, least darts must be written on match sheets and given to the League Secretary prior to or at meetings otherwise achievements will be disregarded. There is no excuse for handing in sheets as all teams are allocated pocket captains books.
  9. All teams must send a representative to league meetings otherwise the team will be fined £3 and a point will be deducted from both leagues. Teams will not be re-imbursed with these points when the fine is paid. Apologies will only be accepted by the League secretary on two occasions, if rendered before the meeting.
  10. In the event of a player raising a complaint about a match, team or the League then the must raise the matter with the team captain who can then bring the matter up at the league meeting. Under no circumstances should the League Chairman or Secretary be approached at other times.
  11. In order that competitions run as smoothly as possible venues that are holding a competition must supply markers, runners, etc otherwise the venue will not be considered for the following season.
  12. Any player(s) barred from a venue do not have the automatic right to entry to that venue and may only be allowed in at the discretion of the licensee. Decisions for venues for competitions will not be affected. If a player who is barred from a venue is drawn at that venue then they will lose the right to play in the competition and any fees received will not be returned by the League.
  13. If a player is drawn at a venue for a competition then the player must play at that venue or will be knocked out of the competition and fees received will not be returned.
  14. All competitions being run at venues will be organised by a designated person which will be decided at league meetings. Designated persons must ring in all competition results to the League Secretary.
  15. Venues for competitions will only be considered if players from that team are entered in that competition.

Blackpool Darts & Dominoes League

Gentlemanly conduct

  1. Although is it not a league rule, if food should be put on for the opposing team then the opposing team must have a fair number of goes on a football card.
  2. Any football cards should be offered to the away team first
  3. Should food not be laid on then a football card being sold for home team profit is frowned upon if it is offered to the away team.
  4. Sandwiches / food is not obligatory although the League appreciates that it is a gentlemanly gesture.
  5. If a complaint or complaints are received about a team or player then the League has the right to bar that team or player from the league, after due consideration is made, and any fees received will not be returned.

Rules - Captains League

  1. During league matches the captains of each team will play each other, darts captain playing darts captain and domino captain playing domino captain.
  2. Normal league rules will apply e.g. in the darts the first captain to win 2 games will be classed as the winner and in dominoes the first captain to win 3 games will be classed classed as the winner.
  3. The captain is the player who picks the team.
  4. In the event that the captain is not in attendance then the vice captain may play in that game.
  5. If a vice captain plays in the competition when the captain is in attendance then the result will be void and the points will be awarded to the opposing captain.
  6. The captain must play in the majority of the matches otherwise may be disqualified from the competition.
  7. In the event of a tie at the end of the season play-offs will take place on finals night.
  8. In the event of 2 leagues being in existence then only league winners will receive a prize. If only one league is in existence then the winner and runner up will receive prizes.
  9. A Captains box at the bottom of match sheets must be completed for each match and be signed by all captains concerned.
  10. Winning captains will be awarded 2 points in the Captains' League.
  11. Names of captains and vice captains must be given to the League Secretary by the first League meeting of the season otherwise captains will be disqualified from playing in the competition.
